Dock Privacy Policy

Dock is a product of South Creek Tech, a DBA of LowTribe Collective LLC.

This Privacy Policy explains how Dock, including the Dock browser extension, Dock Safe Harbor, personal Docks, managed organization Docks, sharing features, and supporting web services, handles information.

1. What Dock is designed to do

Dock helps users intentionally save browser tabs and related context, organize saved work into personal Docks, return to saved work through Safe Harbor, and receive organization-managed resources when their school, district, or organization uses Dock.

Dock is not an advertising platform and is not designed to build advertising profiles from browsing activity.

2. Information Dock may handle

Depending on the features a user or organization uses, Dock may process account information such as an email address and authenticated user identifier; school, district, organization, or license association; saved page titles and URLs; optional notes or reasons entered by the user; favicon or icon URLs; timestamps and organization information associated with saved content; screenshots or screenshot-availability information for pages intentionally saved through Dock; personal Dock names, colors, themes, order, and saved items; managed Dock content supplied by an authorized organization administrator; extension version, installation, heartbeat, compatibility, and operational information; and content intentionally included in a Dock share.

Dock accesses browser tabs and page information only as needed to provide Dock features such as Dock 1 Tab, Dock It All, Safe Harbor, personal Docks, and related user-directed actions.

Dock does not collect browsing activity for personalized advertising.

3. Screenshots and visual previews

When a user intentionally saves a page, Dock may capture a screenshot to create a visual preview when the browser and page permit capture.

Home Port screenshots that are successfully uploaded are stored as files and referenced through Dock rather than being stored as full base64 image data inside the database.

Personal Docks may also maintain private screenshot objects associated with the signed-in user. Access to those personal-Dock screenshot objects is restricted to the owning authenticated account under Dock's current access controls.

Dock may also keep smaller or temporary preview information locally in the browser to make Safe Harbor and personal Docks render more quickly.

Some browser pages, protected services, internal browser pages, or restricted content cannot be captured. In those cases Dock may display Screenshot Unavailable while continuing to preserve the saved destination.

4. Personal Docks and personal saved work

Personal memories and personal Docks belong to the signed-in user's account.

Dock's current personal-Dock access model requires both an authenticated user identity and ownership of the corresponding personal-Dock record.

Organization administrators do not receive general access to browse users' personal saved tabs or personal Docks simply because they administer a Dock organization.

Dock personnel do not routinely read users' personal saved content. Human access to personal or sensitive user data is limited to circumstances permitted by applicable platform requirements, such as when the user gives explicit consent for specific support, when access is necessary to investigate security or abuse, when required by law, or when information has been properly aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

5. Managed school and district Docks

Schools, districts, and other organizations may use Dock to publish managed resources to authorized users.

A managed Dock may contain organization-provided names, colors, branding, links, resources, or other content chosen by authorized organization administrators.

Dock uses organization membership, account identity, licensing information, and access rules to determine which managed content a user should receive.

Organization administrators may have access to administrative information needed to operate their deployment, such as organization settings, licensing or seat information, account status, deployment information, and managed Dock content.

Managed administration is separate from a user's personal Dock content.

6. School and student information

Dock's current district deployment architecture does not require a student-information-system integration or student roster import in order to provide managed Dock functionality.

However, because Dock allows users to intentionally save browser pages and links, a user could choose to save content from a school or educational system that contains sensitive information.

Schools, districts, employees, and users should follow their organization's privacy policies and should avoid saving or sharing unnecessary student information, confidential records, passwords, or other sensitive information through Dock.

Users contacting Dock Support should remove student information, passwords, and other sensitive information from screenshots or diagnostic materials before submitting them whenever possible.

Dock does not sell student data or use information processed through Dock for personalized advertising.

This section does not constitute a representation that Dock has obtained any particular statutory certification or contractual designation under FERPA, COPPA, or another education-privacy law. Applicable responsibilities depend on how a school or district deploys and uses Dock and on the agreements in place with that organization.

7. How Dock uses information

Dock uses information to provide Safe Harbor and personal Docks; synchronize supported account data; render saved tabs and visual previews; deliver managed school or organization content; authenticate users; enforce licensing, account, and seat rules; create shares requested by users; support deployment and troubleshooting; detect abuse or security issues; and maintain and improve the reliability of the product.

Dock does not sell user data.

Dock does not use user data for personalized, interest-based, or retargeted advertising.

8. Service providers

Dock uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate the product.

Current providers include Google for supported authentication and browser-related functionality, Supabase for authentication, database, and file-storage services, and Vercel for hosting Dock's web application and supporting APIs.

Information is transmitted to these providers only as needed to operate the corresponding Dock functions.

Dock may add or replace service providers as the product evolves. Any material change affecting user privacy will be reflected in this policy.

9. Dock sharing

A user may choose to create a Dock share.

A shared Dock can include the Dock name, saved page titles, saved URLs, notes included with those items, icons, and available preview images.

Creating a share is an intentional user action.

Current Dock share links expire after 30 days. Expired share records are scheduled for deletion from Dock's share database.

Anyone who receives a valid share link may be able to view the content intentionally included in that share. Users should not create or distribute a share containing information they do not intend recipients to access.

10. Data retention and deletion

Personal saved work is retained as needed to provide Dock until it is deleted by the user, removed as part of account or organization administration, or otherwise no longer required to operate the service.

When a user deletes a personal memory through Dock, Dock's current deletion process removes the corresponding application record and, where applicable, its associated stored screenshot object.

Deleting a personal Dock removes that Dock and its saved-item associations. Personal-Dock screenshot objects associated with removed items are also subject to cleanup through Dock's deletion process.

Dock shares currently expire after 30 days and are scheduled for deletion after expiration.

Limited operational, security, licensing, audit, or diagnostic records may be retained as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service or satisfy applicable legal obligations.

11. User controls

Users can choose which pages they save, delete personal memories, create and remove personal Docks, choose whether to create a share link, sign out of Dock, and contact Dock for assistance with account data.

Schools and districts may also disable or remove organizational access according to their deployment and licensing arrangements.

12. Security

Dock uses HTTPS for network communications with its supporting services.

Personal-Dock records are protected using authenticated user ownership controls. Personal-Dock screenshot objects are stored in user-scoped private storage paths under Dock's current architecture.

Home Port screenshot delivery uses controlled Dock endpoints rather than exposing screenshot storage as general public browsing data.

No Internet service can guarantee absolute security, but Dock is designed to limit access to information according to account ownership and the product function being performed.

Authentication credentials, private service keys, and other server secrets are not intended to be exposed as public product data.

13. Google and browser-platform data

Dock's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Dock limits its use of user data to providing or improving Dock's disclosed single purpose and related user-facing features.

Dock does not sell information received through Google APIs or browser permissions and does not use or transfer that information for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

Browser permissions may include storage, tabs, identity, alarms, scripting, and host access required to save and render pages the user chooses to Dock.

14. Children and school-authorized use

Dock may be deployed by schools and districts, including in educational environments involving minors.

Dock does not sell children's information and does not use children's information for personalized advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.

Where applicable law permits a school or district to authorize use of an online service on behalf of a parent for a school-authorized educational purpose, Dock may rely on that authorization as permitted by law. Dock does not shift its own legal obligations to the school or district.

If Dock processes personal information from children in circumstances subject to COPPA or other applicable children's-privacy requirements, Dock and the educational organization may have distinct responsibilities concerning notice, authorization, access, deletion, security, and appropriate use of that information.

Dock may enter into additional school or district data-protection terms where appropriate.

15. Changes to this policy

Dock may update this Privacy Policy as the product, infrastructure, or legal requirements change.

If Dock materially changes how personal information is collected, used, or shared, this policy will be updated before or when the changed practice is introduced, as appropriate.
